This very special family drove all the way down from San Francisco to spend the afternoon with us. Natives of the Orange County area, it was important for the family to have their photo shoot near what they love the most, the ocean. So we visited the beautiful Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach for their photos. I am not sure what I enjoyed more, their family photo shoot or catching up with great friends.

Today, a year later, we still find it difficult to come up with actual words that completely describe being your parents. With every day and every week that goes by, you change and we never ever want to forget each year that we have you. Last year we wrote the top things we loved about our first year with you. So this year without looking back on year one,

I’m far from mastering these but each session gets a little more creative and fun. Gavin was nothing outside of amazing. With his incredibly long skinny legs and arms, he still loved to be bundled up in a ball. He also gave us a solid 45 minutes of the best baby coma sleep which allowed us a perfect amount of time to play. Of course, Gavin is not normally a sleeper so Mom & Dad weren’t too pleased that

Missy, thank you again for being so creative, Arnold for being such a great sport and Jackson, for just being you.

Looking back at mine, it seemed liked our photographer told us to kiss 100 times during the shoot. This was not the case for this couple, I’m not sure I even asked them once to kiss. In fact the very first photo you see here was them just meeting me at the top of the escalator and they were ready to go. Next time no scheduling necessary; I’ll

So when a photo session quickly turns from the ‘whole family’ to focus on just the children, you will not see me complaining. I always find these sessions to be so enjoyable anyway. The undeniable love we have for our children needs no introduction, rules, or preparation to be beautiful. It’s just a simple organic exchange of natural love. Whether it was with Mila’s adorable cold stares, sticking her
